About us
Gresley Cabin is part of Gresley House a retired train station originally commissioned in 1850 on the derelict Cambridge to Kings Lynn railway line. The railway line is now a fast busway line leading straight into the heart of Cambridge and beyond.
The name Gresley, derived after Sir Nigel Gresley the Lead Design Engineer of "The Flying Scotsman" Locomotive - see https://gresley.org/ for details.
The idea for the cabin at Gresley House "Gresley Cabin" started developing in 2018 but didn't come to life until 2022. The Cabin was built as shell at first, then customised and finished by professional craftsmen.
HOUSE RULES:
- Please keep the property clean and treat it like you'd treat your own home :)
- When using the sauna please adhere to the Safety and useage rules displayed on the sauna door
- Please park in the designated space. If you need parking for a large car or van please let us know so we can help you organise parking
- Please do not set the underfloor heating temperature beyond the 22 degrees celcius mark.
How the Cabin developed into a holiday let
The log cabin was originally intended as a Garage and a Workshop for the main house. However this intention was quickly dropped in favour of transforming it into an annex or holiday home.
How we started
We started advertising the cabin as a holiday let in July 2022 through AirBnB, Booking.com and vrbo. The cabin was popular from Day 1 and it became very difficult to avoid double bookings without our Channel Manager (Smoobu) and this website.
